Who am I?

My name is Anita. I am a lawyer in Chicago, Illinois. I actually moved here in January 2009. Before moving to Chicago, I was in Michigan. I am originally from Los Angeles, California. Imagine the culture shock, when I moved to Michigan from LA. I had a lot to get used to. It took about a year, but I got used to the Midwest life. Now I am in Chicago, starting my career not only in law but also in makeup. I have done makeup for awhile now. I used to do a lot of bridal and special occasions when I was in undergrad in CA. When I moved to Michigan for lawschool, I had to take a pause in makeup and concentrate on my law studies. Now, that I am a lawyer, I can go back to concentrating on what I love to do - make women look prettier than they already are.

I feel every woman is beautiful, but just need little assistance in getting certain assets accented. And what better way, than makeup! I love it when I do makeup on women that really don’t wear makeup, and when they see themselves in the mirror, they are just shocked at what they see. They even start carrying themselves in a different way.

While doing makeup, my clients asked if I can do their hair as well. So slowly I started to blow-out hair, and put extensions, and started doing up-dos. I didn’t go to school for it or anything, but I guess I just have a thing for hair and makeup.

I also thread eyebrows. I learned this because while I was in Michigan, I didn’t know where to go to get it done. I would travel back and forth to LA a lot so I would wait to get it done in LA. But when the traveling decreased, it was kind of embarrassing not having my eyebrows done. So I learned how to thread. I thread my own eyebrows. I introduced the concept to a lot of my friends from school that weren’t familiar with it. As a result, I started threading their eyebrows as well.
